10 March 1978 – Movie Gray Lady Down is released starring Chuck Heston, Stacy Keach, David Carradine and Ronny Cox. Heston is in command of the boat as he’s on his way to a new position in charge of COMSUBRON. A routine return to Subbase New London is suddenly changed in a collision off foggy Long Island Sound that sends the boat to the bottom at a depth of 1450 feet. Perched precariously on the edge of an underwater canyon the crew faces a variety of challenges.
