This Day in Submarine History

On this day in 1945 USS Skate (SS 305), a Balao Class boat, was on her final war patrol in the Sea of Japan. In a rare encounter Skate Came across Japanese Submarine I- 122 returning to base and launched two torpedoes, scoring two hits and sinking the same.
