

Allan Rose Brannam MM2 – November 7, 1944 – USS Albacore (SS-218) After successfully torpedoing the Japanese aircraft carrier Taiho on June 18th. Albacore completed her patrol, in October she refueled in Pearl and set out on Patrol near the Oshima Peninsula, striking a mine on 7 November. Eighty-Five were killed all hands lost by hitting a mine. Japanese war records indicated a Japanese patrol boat witnessed the explosion and observed heavy oil, bedding and food supplies rising to the surface. Allan Brannam was from Caldwell, Idaho
