

June 18, 1945 USS Bonefish (SS-223) Toyama Bay. Bonefish failed to arrive at a scheduled rendezvous with USS Tunny on 16 June. After the war Japanese records indicate that the cargo ship Konzan Maru was torpedoed and a counterattack by Japanese escort ships brought debris and oil to the surface. It was concluded that this was the fate of Bonefish. Bonefish was the second to last Submarine lost in the war.
