

August 6, 1945 USS Bullhead ( SS – 332) Bullhead was the Last Submarine lost during World War Two, on the same day the atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima. Bullhead departed Freemantle, Australia on 31 July 1945 to start her third War Patrol and radioed she reached Lombok Strait, her patrol area, on 6 August. War records indicate an air attack with depth charges claimed two direct hits with oil gushing to surface in Lombok Strait.
